"They don't sag in your 'hood?" a Folsom Prison inmate asked me when I told him to pull up his pants. I didn't know what sagging was then and maybe many people don't know what it is or maybe they do know but just don't like to see it. MaryLynn has the ability to stay current with the sign of the times. She's bold, unique, and creative. What other photographer would have a picture of a young man "saggin'" in their portfolio? NONE because they wouldn't dare to venture into that arena! MaryLynn has the guts and the brains to show what's happening in the world around us. She takes risks with her photo shoots that no other colleague would. I say "Bravo MaryLynn!" (Oh, by the way, what gang is he affiliated with?) And not to mention pictures of pregnant women. When has there ever been shown a picture of a pregnant woman? NEVER! Since time began, no one would dare take pictures of pregnant women much less let them be seen in public. MaryLynn has what it takes to be on the A list. She has taken photography to a new level. Creative yet bold and gutsy! She has the capacity to stir emotion into her pictures. That's why she refers to them as "Portraitures" and not just pictures. Her portraitures have something to say and every one of her shots touch your emotion, in one way or another. She is no mere photographer. She is a "A lister".
Recognize her!

I still don't know how to blog but I'm going to give it another shot. I just want to say I consider myself lucky to have you as a friend. I feel you have really followed your road successfully, and distinguished yourself in both professions. And the key to that success is that you enjoy what you are doing. You should be proud of yourself. I certainly feel proud that I am a friend of yours and I actually idolize you. I guess that comes from being a Rare Silk fan. You are so talented in whatever you do. You are blessed to be doing things you enjoy doing and that it is not just a job.

And did you know what saggin' was? I don't know how they keep their pants up and that they don't fall down completely. As you can tell, I liked that picture. I can relate to those kinds of cultural idioms. It really shows your diversity because your corporate shots emote each of the individual's personality too. That's what I called diversity and you have a knack for capturing feeling in a shot. Corporate shots are usually boring but yours are alive with personality and you have set yourself above the rest of your colleagues in doing that. That's ususual. I just can't say enough about how your portraitures are really art. The uniqueness of your photography is truly that of a 21st century artist and you set a new standard for photographers. Great work MaryLynn!!

What is blogging all about? Just saying whatever? Well, I want to blog on MaryLynn Gillaspie's Photography site so I will do just that. I think she is a unique and talented artist in both photography and singing. And she sure can swing!!! Awesome MaryLynn!
I don't think anyone knows there is a place to blog on your website so I think you should email all your contacts apprising them of the blog that you have on your website. I'm sure you would get more blogs that way instead of comments made on Denver 7's A List site. You are consistently popular amongst your clientele AND your
Rare Silk fans. You walk on water, as far as I'm concerned! What a concept: portraits as art. You're a clever genius, Scat Cat!
You are talented and very unique individual that should be proud of your life's work and how you changed the world in one way or another. You will leave the earth having made a tremendous mark on the world. By reviewing the comments made on the A list, it is obvious that you are honored and admired profoundly for your work as well as your person. I admire you in a way that is respectful and I am in awe of you! You should be proud of yourself. Your work speaks for itself. Thumbs up for MaryLynn!!!

Here's a toast to you with a chilled bottle of Louis Rhoerder Cristal Champagne vintage 1993 in sparkling crystal champagne flutes because you are going to win Denver7's A list in portrait photography.! Clink, Clink!! You're portaitures are works of art and they are sure to win you a place of honor at the top pitted against your colleagues. Ultimately sublime mastery of photography as art. Great slideshow! You're number 1 in my book! YAY for Mx!!

You are "da bomb"!!! Love your work! You should have won first place on Denver 7's A list, had the voters been more scrupulous about their voting.

Hey, the video on You Tube of Rare Silk singing "You Know It's Wrong" and scattin' is no longer available. Anyone out there know why? I asked elmtreemike who put up the video and he hasn't responded. I want to see that video back up on You Tube. You Rocked, MaryLynn!!!

Can't wait until you can get to my images but I have patience. I know you're busy especially since you placed 2nd on Denver 7's A List! You are probably swamped with work!
Get to my stuff when you can, not a priority. No stress!!! Be happy!

My flower images MaryLynn put on watercolor paper instead of photo paper and they look more artful, less like a photograph and more like a drawing or painting! I had two of the larger images customed framed , one in a recessed frame and they look like artpieces that normally run $300-$500! The closeups are even more beautiful than the flower itself. You do magnificent work!! I ended up keeping 7 of the 10 images I ordered. They were originally intended to be given away as Christmas presents but I just couldn't part with some of them. The 3 that I gave out went to very special people in my life so they were appreciative of such fine artwork(photography)that MaryLynn did for me. I only wish I had her "mark" or signature on the mattes around the images. I still might send some of the mattes to be signed that aren't custom framed. The image looks naked without the artist's personal mark on it yet still magnificent. I'm very satisfied with the work MaryLynn put into the shots of the Asian lilies. They almost look as if you could smell their mesmerizing fragrance. You should have won FIRST place on Denver 7's A list because you are THE best artist I've ever known and worked with. And you can sing "Angel Eyes" too! That's what I call talent!!! A professional singer turned professional portraiturer.
That's a winner in my book! And apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so! I wouldn't doubt it if you had any other professional skills on your resumé. Your artwork can be described as a "Piéce de resistance" which is the ultimate compliment in French. In English, they are called "Masterpieces"!!! I just Love, Love, Love your work!!!

Hang in there! Things will get better. Write a song and publish it or put out a cd on your own. I would love to hear you sing again!
I wrote a bunch of great comments about you on this blog but it gave me an error when I tried to publish it. I'm just trying to keep your blog alive as you are a Premiere Photographer, you are also a excellent songwriter and singer. I dig you...what else can I say?

What's happening to the contest? How come you're not getting more votes? I asked my friends to vote for you and it's posted on Twitter to go vote for you. Who is David Schmidt anyway? I had 4 of my friends say they voted for you plus me and that still didn't spike up your percentage. What's up with that? We want you to win this year!

Take a vacation. You are probably stressed out right now. No worries. Whatever happens~~happens, Dig it!

Wow! Fantastic website. I've never been on a photographer's site before. Your work is wonderful! Your website is great! Did you make it? You truly are an artist and not just the run-of-the-mill photographer. Hope you win! Good Luck!

I found out about you through some mutual friends and I decided to look at your website. It was very interesting and all the pictures you have taken are really, really good. So I guess you pose them in creative ways then take their picture. I have never seen photos like yours. You are different and pretty artistic with your camera.
I don't know you personally but my friend asked me to vote for you, so now I will because your work is excellent!Good Luck!

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. It was a pleasant surprise (shock) to see a comment from someone other than a family member! I hope what I wrote was accurate and not offensive to you. I checked out your site and enjoy your photo craft. I have much to learn as a photographer (and music critic). Wishing you continued success and the free time to blog more!
